Summary
Dr Kikis Patatas is an experienced Interventional Radiology Consultant based at the American Medical Centre, Nicosia, Cyprus from October 2016. He has returned to Cyprus after 18 years in London and the UK.
He qualified in 2004 from University College London (UCL) Medical School where he was awarded an undergraduate scholarship, and graduated with a number of undergraduate prizes and merit awards. After comprehensive training in interventional radiology (IR) based at Leeds Teaching Hospitals, he was appointed as a full-time IR Consultant at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust (Northwick Park Hospital - St Mark's Hospital - Central Middlesex - Ealing Hospital), one of the largest trusts in the country, and one of the busiest interventional radiology departments (West London Vascular & Interventional Centre) where he worked until his return to Cyprus.
He has also worked as honorary consultant both at Royal Marsden Hospital and St James's University Hospital (two of the largest oncology UK centres) gaining experience in tumour ablation.
He was part of the first cohort of radiologists who have completed accredited and integrated 6-year interventional radiology training in the UK, and obtained CCST in the new GMC-approved Interventional Radiology sub-specialty status. He is also an EBIR (European Board of Interventional Radiology) diploma holder granted by the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE) after successfully passing the exam.
He performs a wide range of interventional radiology procedures (see section > Services).
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and the Cardiovascular & Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (EBIR), and is a member of the European Society of Radiology (ECR) and the British Society of Interventional Radiology (BSIR).
On his spare time, he enjoys football (both playing and watching!), tennis as well as travelling and skiing (often combining the two!).
